Would it seem selfish of me if I put my niece and nephews in foster care?

My niece and nephews live with me...they're 3, 2, and 1 years old. This is very hard for me because I live in a studio apartment, I work full time, and I go to school full time. I get no help from my family and the stress is to an almost unbearable point. I have recently become severely depressed and everyday seems to be a struggle. I'm starting to think the best thing is for me to put them in fost care. I was raised in foster and I know how awful it can be, but I need a break, even if it is only for a couple of weeks. Would this be selfish of me? What should I do?

You may have to go through a few doctors but you will find the one that will help you. My brother was recently diagnosed with crohn's disease after nearly 6 years of doctors not willing to help him figure out what his problem was. Should I do an MD/MBA for neurosurgery?

You don't just stop being an artist, you already proved that you are, and it's so normal to go through a rough patch or a dry spell. You don't care right now because everything else needs your time and devotion at the moment. That doesn't mean you'll never ever go back to sculpting. You need just to work on yourself. Breathe. You're recovering from a devastating blow, it would be absolutely normal to drop everything else to deal with it. Then one day you'll find yourself longing to do it again or musing over an idea, and hey - you're back at it. Just be patient with yourself and keep yourself in habit by doing a sketch journal.

My son was taken to an ER after a wrestling injury. The doctor there took x-rays. We were told he had muscle spasms and that he could wear a soft collar if he felt like it helped. We were also given muscle relaxers for him. Based on that, he went to school (collarless) and was worked on by the high school trainer. By the second day the trainer was concerned at his level of pain and uncomfortable enough to ask a friend to review the x-rays. When they were looked at he was immediately pulled out of school and sent to a specialist. She diagnosed a broken vertebrae from the original x-ray. A CAT scan and MRI showed the spinal cord swelling and the damage to his disc as well as the shift in spinal column and collapse of the vertebrae. He is doing well after the neurosurgeon placed a plate, cadaver bone and four screws. He has some nerve damage but is slowly gaining strength and mobility. On the one hand we are so grateful that he is not paralyzed, on the other I am angry that he was in so much pain. As soon as he got to the specialist they put him in a hard collar to immobilize him. I know some of this is because he is my child...but the doctor that saw him first really does need to understand how dangerous this could have been.

Okay, so I really want a Paintball gun for my B-Day (Planet Eclipse Etek 3 LT), and it's 495.00, but my Mom doesn't understand that different paintball guns are completely different. She doesn't understand that if a gun is from a better company it's going to be better. She's the average old "Oh you could get the same thing for $150" when you clearly cannot. This gun is the top of the line Tournament level gun, and she offered to buy me an iPad which I responded and told her I don't want one. 10/2010 I had surgery to remove a brain tumor, I have now begun to hear strange noises in my ear when sleeping?

This noise is sometimes a purring or a gurgling sound, I can't really explain it but, it is driving me crazy! It only happens when I try to sleep and will wake me up in the middle of the night( no issues with day time sleeping). I noticed that it is only in my left ear and when I lay on that side and it not as prevalent as when I sleep on my right. This is something that has just started as of a couple of days ago. I tried an ear plug last night to no avail. I'm wondering if this is something to do with my surgery or not. I did have an MRI in Mar and the image was clear of the tumor. My other issue, is that I'm out of town and can't see my neurologist or neurosurgeon about this issue. How can my brain continue to hear from my surgery without any sleep?

Man! I understand the dove. I had one that we knew was not going to live long and he never stopped hand feeding. That wasn't exactly his fault or mine. He really would never eat on his own. I hand fed him for 5 months. Basically you just have to cut down the feedings to one late in the evening and force them to eat seeds. Sometimes changing their location will help with that. I almost always sold my handfed babies when they were down to one meal a day and often they would stop that meal when they went home with their new owners.

Should i take jazz or lyrical?

My first piece of advice is don't take both tap and musical theatre. They are basically the same, so pick one or the other. Now you have two open spaces for classes. I suggest picking Jazz over lyrical, because lyrical is basically a ballet class, and if you ever want to go professional, it won't do you any good. Now you can take one more class, whether it's the musical theatre you just cannot wait to take, lyrical (which i don't suggest), or any other class that catches your eye. I think that you should either add hip hop (if your studio offers it), or ballet. I suggest those because 1, Hip Hop has always been one of my favorites (and i've taken everything), and 2, Ballet is the base of all dance. Hope I helped!

Iv been making rap music since I was 15. I'm now 17 turning 18 in a few days and finally after all my time debating wether to buy a mac when I know music will get me no where but I love doing it and is my hobby. So I'm upgrading my equipment and my main goal is just to get a fan base on YouTube. I'm using a USB logitech microphone now with a old computer and using audacity to record. Laptop headphone jack broken?

Ok, so both of the headphone jacks on my Dell studio laptop are not working as they should. When I plug in my headphones in either jack the sound is muffled and can barley be heard, also sometimes sound only comes through one headphone while being muffled. I have to push my headphone connector upwards while it's in the jack for the sound to be normal, this is the same for both jacks. However if anything lightly touches the connector the sound goes faulty again. How can I fix this? (My computer recognizes the headphones)

We had to put my cat down this morning...?

she was only 14 years old and I've had her pretty much my entire life. We found her in our yard when I was 4. She was my first pet. She was sick for about a week and we took her to the vet and they found out her liver and kidneys were bad. There was nothing the vets could do, so we had them put her down this morning. I'm so sad and I can't see myself feeling any better anytime soon. I can't stop crying and I just want to hold her one more time. I keep looking around where she used to lay and wishing she was still there, all cuddled up on her favorite stool. I didn't even get to say goodbye to her. I just don't know what to do because my dad thinks I'm overreacting and that I should be over it already. But it just happened this morning! How can I already be over it?! We had plans to go over to my aunts house this evening, but with all that's happened I wasn't up for it and he got so upset with me. But I can't help the way I feel....I just wanted to be alone and to mourn...Does he have a right to be angry with me!? I don't think he does....

For one, if you aren't in medical school already (which I presume you are not), how can you even know you want to be a neurosurgeon, or that you've got what it takes to even get IN to medical school? Have you shadowed any doctors? Have you even BEGUN to study for the MCAT? Have you taken ANY introductory level college science courses? Don't look at the salary and think, hmm, I want to be a neurosurgeon. It takes many years of schooling. Not only undergrad and medical school, plus gen surgery residency, specialty residency, plus possible fellowship! Neurosurgeons have some of the worst hours and highest malpractice insurance. If you just want to make money, go into business.

I have a prolactinoma (spelling) what should I do?

Last year the doctors told me that I had a pituitary tumor that secrets prolactin. They said it was 9mm and that they were not going to do anything. I don't have a period at all. I did but it stopped about 5 months after it first started. Then this year (a few months ago) I lost my peripheral vision in my right eye so I went to the neurosurgeon and he said that nothing has changed and that the symptom had nothing to do with my tumor. I'm currently a senior who's dual enrolled at my school and the local community college near my school. Has anyone else been diagnosed with neuropathy and gone through evoked potential, MRI, and EMG testing?

About 2 months ago I decided to see my primary care physician for numbness and tingling and pain in hands, feet, arms and legs. She had no answers, but sent me to a neurologist. The neurologist set up 3 rounds of testing, MRI, Evoked Potential and EMG, as well as a 2 month follow up appointment, and several rounds of blood testing. MRI showed an enlarged Pineal Cyst, Evoked Potential showed slow response of nerve set in hands and feet. The EMG showed carpal tunnel of the wrists. Due to the enlarged Pineal Cyst I was sent then to a Neurosurgeon who also used x-rays as a secondary method of testing. Today at my "follow up" I expressed that I am still in immense pain daily, have numbness and tingling in all limbs and have had terrible head aches and facial twitching, of which he prescribed Magnesium 250mg for "pain." His recommendation going forward is to continue taking Vitamin B12, and add Magnesium, do physical therapy and now go and see a rheumatologist as well as an opthamologist. Then back again in 6 weeks for a second "follow-up" appointment. All in all I feel these doctors are simply sharing the wealth by referring their peers to help determine a cause, which no one can seem to do...I am already at about $10,000 in "treatment" and have had 0 treatment. Just Had Neck Surgery?

I had neck surgery last Thursday. I had a fusion of the foraminal openings at C6-C7 on both sides of my neck. The horrible nerve pain I had down my arm and numbness is already gone even though the neurosurgeon had said the nerves were horribly crushed and it could take some time for them to settle down. I am having a little stabbing pain at the base of my neck into the trapezius muscle primarily on the right side which was worse than the left to begin with. I am also pretty stiff all up and down my neck. Is this fairly normal and how long should I expect to feel this way before I start to improve? I know it will take time, but I was pretty out of it when the surgeon was talking to me post op and I really don't remember most of what he said in terms of what to expect with my recovery. Overall, I don't feel to bad. But, he did say I may not get 100% relief because he wasn't able to fix everything and I have a lot of degeneration. How long is realistic before I start to notice big improvements other than the nerve pain being gone? I know getting rid of the nerve pain is a huge improvement by itself. But I was curious about how long the rest will last? Thanks!

I was quite lazy in high school and dropped out two months into my senior year it was either that or I was going to get kicked out for skipping. I barely ever attended any classes and was still able to score in the top 3% on my ged. The GED test to me was more or less common knowledge. Hello I am 32 years old and was diagnosed with a brain tumor in August 2010. I was the only one working (on the oil rig), and was not able to go back because of the seizures. It is my dream school but I am not sure I can get in. My school is a top public school in my state and has a very rigorous curriculum. I took mostly honors classes and have a 3.7 weighted GPA. I didn't take any AP classes because my teachers or guidance counselor didn't recommend any for me. It was a struggle to get the A's and B's I did get with the honors classes. Color management, photo vs other programs?

I am running a Dell Studio w/ AOC monitor (cheap, not much info) and Vista. I am noting a BIG difference in color between photo software (anything from CS2 down to Windows Picture Viewer) and any other program. For example, in Windows Explorer the thumbnails have vibrant red. Open up the picture and it is a reddish brown. On Facebook the photos look entirely different (redder) so I have to use an older laptop to color correct. Any idea what is going on and how to fix it?

Im wondering about going to either Emory University or University of Georgia. I personally value the quality my education and I have heard that Emory is a better school. But in my opinion facts are facts and wherever you go to school you will get the same education. I like bigger classrooms anyways so I seem to like UGA more and I think Emory is is a too much money. However, I want to be a neurosurgeon and was going to major in Neuroscience. Emory has it and UGA doesn't. Okay, so I really want a Paintball gun for my B-Day (Planet Eclipse Etek 3 LT), and it's 495.00, but my Mom doesn't understand that different paintball guns are completely different. Video rendered on Sony Vegas freezes?

So I've been trying to edit a video on Sony Vegas. That parts done, but after I rendered it and then tried to play it, the first 30 seconds of the video were fine, but then the video froze while the audio kept going. This is probably my fourth or fifth time trying to render it, but they're all the same. I render it on Windows Media Video V11 (*.wmv) and I did try it on QuickTime 7 (*.mov) like someone suggested, but the one on QuickTime lags and skips. I have Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 10.0 and I was wondering if anyone knew a fix for this problem. Thanks in advance.

I had brain surgery (A third ventriculostomy) and I woke up. Not in a normal way, but I violently swung my head around, causing the neurosurgeon to cut a blood vessel. I was in an induced coma for 10 days while they drained the blood out.. and then shunted. I underwent physical therapy and am now shunt-dependent. If it matters any, I have pretty severe psychological problems now. I have horrible anger problems which I never had before and experience bi-polar like symptoms. I dated this girl for a short time. We broke up from something completely unrelated (not a fight or bad) to decide to be friends for a little bit. She still liked me, and I still liked her. I'm not going to share details. Anyway I was the first guy she was more intimate with. Her previous boyfriend felt more like a friend to her. A few months later she's really upset. She tells me she finally looked up a friend's name in an obituary. A friend who had a huge crush on her I guess and she had known for a long time. (probably 7+ years) She's 21 now. He had gotten brain cancer, and the emails they exchanged had stopped coming in for a couple years, so she knew he was probably dead, but didn't have the guts to look up his name. So when she did, she was saying she'll never be able to love anyone and she wants to be with him, and she wished she could have told him she loved him back. (which I guess she never did) It makes me question the whole thing, although it's not good to confront her. Because if she had really liked him back at that time, wouldn't she have said it? Is it guilt and the loss of a friend? Or did she truly love him that whole time and just never said it? I've only known her for a year, so I can't compare with all the memories they probably had. She pretends she's okay around everyone, but she's the shell of her former self. She's uncaring and monotone acting 95% of the time. I rarely see her excited or happy anymore. It's been about 4 months since the obituary thing. Although she works and goes to school, I feel as though she's just going through the motions. I love her and I care about her. I want to see her happy. I suggested she look into support groups or maybe some counseling targeted towards grief coping. I know she's not handling this in a very unhealthy way. I can understand not wanting to take other people's advice who care, because I used to be the same way. The only response I get from this is 'Therapy can't bring him back. It can't make me not sad'. I had decided that if that thing couldn't be changed, I wouldn't be happy. And no one could help me. But after living more, and going through counseling, finding happiness in other things, I finally can say I'm happy to be alive, and I want to live my life to it's proper end. I just wonder what I'm supposed to do for her. Can someone heal on their own, without therapy, and only support of 1 person? I can't make her do anything, and I can't change a person. I have read all I could find over the past twenty-four hours on this topic. Let me start by saying "I don't know you...you don't know me." Please accept what I'm saying as truth and help me figure this out before I totally lose it. I have had lower back pain for almost two years now, and I've seen two neurosurgeons who both recommended surgery. I always thought they opted for the conservative path first, but in my case, that has not been the case. My primary suggested I contact a pain clinic to see if there was some alternative treatment because I am 100% against surgery. I made an appt. with a wonderful group and went in. On my first visit they asked for a urine specimen(which was weird but if that's protocol it's totally fine with me). The doctor set me up for an injection and it went well. Upon my next visit to follow up after the injection we discussed more permanent options such as radio frequency laser that would burn the nerves giving me trouble. Just as I started to leave the doctor asked me to sit back down. He said I had failed my drug test!!! You could have knocked me over with a feather! I tested positive for amphetamines! I don't even know how or where to get a supply of such things! We live in a lovely community with decent people...not some inner city with thugs on every corner selling their dope stuff! At first I was speechless, then I got mad. I told the physician that I had listed every medication I had been on at the time of the test. It was an awful period for allergies, which subsequently led to a sinus infection, so there were several meds on my screen sheet. I listed my Provigil 200 mg 2x daily, Bronkaid 4x daily, Wellbutrin 300mg 1x daily, Mucinex 2x daily, Benzonatate 200 mg 3x daily(script for cough), and an alteration of Tylenol and Ibuprofen for pain. I asked my doctor if any of these meds could have given the wrong result and he said "No." After everything we discussed about future treatment, he told me we would have to put things on hold until I got the matter cleared up. I spent the entire day on my cell phone yesterday calling the lab in TN who produced the tainted results and they wouldn't budge. After pulling my hair out I got online and began researching the matter myself. There are well over a thousand site that specifically state that ephedrine can and does throw false positive results for amphetamines! This is the primary ingredient in the Bronkaid sinus medication that I purchase from my pharmacy(25mg per dose @ 4doses per day)! I called back to the lab and the technician assured me this was not the case with my results. I don't give the first care about seeing this particular pain management group again...but I want justice! I have no idea if this is something that gets reported, is sent to my primary, etc. This is ludicrous! Every visit I've had with these people including my very first set up visit I've been made to list any and all meds I was on as well as listing them on the screen sheet. That list has not changed. I am still suffering with allergies and still on all the same meds. When I saw the puzzled look on the doctor's face, I pleaded to retake the test. I told him that I had no idea such results had come back against me and I wanted to vindicate myself. He said it wouldn't matter because the results he was holding were the ones that counted. Even the lab tech. in TN asked why he didn't just collect a new sample(?). My question to him was..."If I had some illegal drug in my system, and I knew I had submitted to a drug screen three weeks before, why on earth would I have shown back up in the first place??! What can I do if ANYTHING to fix this nightmare. This isn't fair at all....I have no history whatsoever of drug use. None! Why would a woman in her 40's begin such a filthy habit?

i've been doing korean martial arts for six years and i just received my black belt (cho dan) with months of hard work. he's basically been forcing me to go for the past years, he even did martial arts after me, hes now been doing it for four years. we've discussed this before but he just hates the idea that i don't want to do it anymore or even that i just want to do it less. it makes me so angry and sad that this art takes up most of my during school days to do other things like maybe do homework at decent time. as a matter of fact i want to learn other martial arts even. at my studio we do lot and lot of forms and robotic defensive techniques and knife defenses where they attempt to strike you with one technique and stop for you so you can do whatever you want to them. i've sparred with my friends who have minimal training and lose. dad tells me that when i become a dan i start to realize the applications of forms but does it seriously take 6 years of training to learn how to defend yourselves. i know you have to imagine opponents but it comes nothing close to the real thing. i want to become the worlds best martial artist but i think i need far more diversity of skills. we live far from our dojang so as soon as we get home from school i have to get ready and leave. my dads just an angry guy, idk i guess i have no choice but to be a shrimp and just give up my dreams and have no skills in combat but i would really appreciate it if my problem can be solved some how.

Its because your external drive is FAT32 which doesn't allow transferring files larger than 4gb , you need to go to your computer right click the hard drive and format it to NTFS , and that would do it Formating will delete all you're files so save them. How to stop fighting rats?

So i asked before how to help a mourning rat because i had a rat that passed away and his cage mate became depressed , they all said to get a new rat. So i bought a new rat who is four months old and about half Alejandro's size. I started introducing them slowly, but then when i put them in the same cage Alejandro started attacking him, he actually drew blood. So now they are in separate cages, but i only had a drawer type thing to put the new rat in. it's a lot like a fish tank, but i don't want to keep him there, so is there any way to stop them from fighting?
