If you got bad grades in highschool for half the year, then got good grades, what does that do?

So, around tenth grade, I had a change of heart and wanted to become a neurosurgeon. I started making very good grades in school. The only problem is i didn't do so well on my grades before I realized what I wanted to become. Will they not accept me because of my mistakes?
