How to become a surgeon?
4 years of college (any major, premed classes, very high GPA, great MCAT scores), 4 years of medical school, 5 years of residency in general surgery, and another 5 years of fellowship in neurosurgery. 18 years of college and training (residency and fellowship pay, but not enough to start paying back your loans). There are a few BS/MD and BA/MD programs in the US, but not many, and they are very competitive. Also, you might not be eligible for all residency programs after those programs. All this is for the US - you really should study in the country you wish to live and practice in.
