Can I get into med school with ged?
I was quite lazy in high school and dropped out two months into my senior year it was either that or I was going to get kicked out for skipping. I barely ever attended any classes and was still able to score in the top 3% on my ged. The GED test to me was more or less common knowledge. I kept a's and b's without trying up until my junior year when I refused to attend class which resulted in a lot of incomplete assignments. I'm far from stupid. I just got more involved with drugs and friends then I should have been. The only reason I passed my junior year was from acing all the finals. My life has taking a complete turn though. I had to have a microdiscectomy on my back and it really changed my outlook on my education. I have always wanted to be a neurosurgeon due to a huge interest in it and coincidentally the only surgery I've ever had was done by a neurosurgeon. Two weeks after my surgery my fiance of 4 years killed himself because he felt he was 'floating through life' and felt it was too late to do anything with himself since he was already 32. I'm 22 and realize I need to start running towards my goals before I go down the same path. So as long as I can keep my 3.9 gpa in a community college is there a chance I can get into a good medical school?
