Neurosurgeon or neurologist, which would I be better suited to?

I get high grades in science and with that I hope to study medicine, and hopefully specialize in the neurological system because I love learning about it. Anyway, I have keen interest about learning about the diseases associated the neurological system because its so beautiful and intricate, however If I were a surgeon rather than a neurologist does that mean I would do less research and diagnosis
