What makes Christian Scientists think they are so special?

Why do they think they are so holier than thou that they don't need surgeries or medicine. Did it ever occur to them they are supposed to endure that pain or that God created the medicines and doctors. I had epilepsy and I prayed to God to cure me and he sent me to the best neurosurgeon in the country. I had a piece of my brain removed and was still able to get a bachelors degree after and no seizures for 11 years.
