Plans on becoming a neurosurgeon?

So...It's that time. Time for college. I will most likely be going to the University of Missouri for undergraduate, but Purdue University is still a possibility for me. I was just wondering if anyone had any tips/suggestions/ideas on the ideal path I should follow in order to come out as a strong candidate for medical school, and in regards to neurosurgery.
